About IIC

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has established the 'MHRD's Innovation Cell (MIC)' to foster a culture of innovation systematically across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
Saroop Rani Government College for Women, Amritsar, is among the selected HEIs under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, for establishing an Institution's Innovation Council (IIC). This council operates under the 'MHRD's Innovation Cell (MIC)' to systematically nurture innovation culture and startup ecosystems.
Vision
Our vision is to meet the needs of students and faculty entrepreneurs by encouraging innovative ideas with social relevance. Through this, we aim to cultivate an entrepreneurial culture on campus that enhances our education system and contributes to national economic and social development.
Mission
Our mission is to develop a system with the necessary infrastructure to enable students and faculty to innovate and prototype their ideas to industrial standards. We provide support from the government, industry, and reputable academic institutions worldwide to help them realize their potential.

- Conducting various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by the Central MIC in a timely manner
- Organizing periodic workshops, seminars, and interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals
- Creating a mentor pool for student innovators
